The Open Platform: Three Impaired Monkeys

With no one seeing, hearing or speaking
The curtain of darkness silently rises

An elderly father and his two sons share a small flat.
 

The father is sometimes lucid, other times muddled, his consciousness traversing past and present.
 

Often, he re-enacts family incidents of which no one is aware. As time goes on, the sons understand their father’s devotion, and in turn, they re-examine their own estranged relations.
 

Families are a tapestry interwoven with thousands of strands of love and hate. In the course of analyzing cause and effect, we discover painful, even unbearable, secrets. The more people choose “not to see, not to hear and not to speak,” the veil of darkness becomes all the more apparent, when the dice is cast and fate irreversible.
